Feast your eye on some lovely new art] for Moana, the Disney phone cases living film about a Polynesian girl who exactly goes on a dangerous journey. When we to start off told you about this film it was scheduled for a 2018 release — but also thank goodness, we're getting it in December 2016 instead.
Along with the new art] and updated release date, The Disney iPhone cases produtcions also released a new synopsis created by Moana, which is directed by Bernard Musker and Ron Clement (who worked on Aladdin, The Little Mermaid additionally , the Princess and the Frog):
In the earlier South Pacific world of Oceania, Moana, a born navigator, sets cruise trip in search of a fabled island. Over her incredible journey, she leagues up with her hero, the famous demi-god Maui, to traverse those open ocean on an action-packed expedition, encountering enormous sea creatures, dramatic underworlds and ancient folklore.
It does sound incredible. Early myths suggested the art style is similar to the animated short Paperman, but also apparently that's no longer the case. Still looks amazing, though.
Musker talked to Huffington Post all over the genesis of this film:
I spent reading the novels of Melville and Conrad. And the South Waters, the exotic world that a lot of their own stories are set in, was considerably intriguing to me. Just looking at those art which comes out that cupboard of the globe — the designs, the statuary, the sculpture — I thought that it all begged due to bigger-than-life treatment that you can only grab with animation. So to expand via that idea, I then began checking out up on the mythology of this neighbourhood. Which is when I came across these brilliant tales about Maui, who's some of the great cultural heroes of the Down Pacific.
When they took their decision to Disney's John Lasseter, albeit, he said this called for a whole lot more on-the-ground research. So Musker so Clement ended up spending a lot of time by the South Seas, researching the islands and the culture, in order to get it right. "Those trips have been revelatory and kind created by life-changing in a way, " Musker declares HuffPo. "In that it made we take our very simple outline so rework the whole thing. "
Expect Moana on or around Nov. 23, 2016.
